What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a common type of talk therapy. CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way. CBT has been shown to be effective for a wide variety of mental health disorders including anxiety disorders.

It has also been associated with improvements in quality of life in people experiencing anxiety.  The skills from CBT are short-term and skills-focused and are aimed at altering thought patterns.  Mindfulness and Person-Centered Therapy as well as CBT are evidence-based techniques for burnout prevention.
